ABA of North Texas has qualified staff which provides trainings and consultation to other professional and parents in the community. The child’s safety in the community is a common concern for parents and professionals. Being a part of the community is especially important for the livelihood and independence of individuals with autism. Venturing out into the community however involves many safety risks that may not be experienced in the home or at school. Children with ASD and other special needs may be more likely to act impulsively—to run away or wander more than their typically developing peers. This puts them in greater danger of getting lost or hurt.
